Fund I invests in high potential technology-based startups focused in advanced materials and more generally in materials science and engineering innovations, from the proof-of-concept to seed, Round A and other early stages.
Over 20 years as expert in scouting, research results exploitation, knowledge-based projects evaluation and strategic development of knowledge intensive start-ups, working with Universities, Technology Parks, Innovation Agencies, with a focus on R&I projects and entrepreneurship.
From January 2018, Anna is one of the 5 Italian experts, among the 87 European evaluators the European Innovation Council (EIC), for the Phase 2 SME Evaluations. Board director of I.TRAS.TE company co-founded by the University of Perugia and META Group, focus on technology transfer activities and spin-off creation.

Pasquale Filianoti (47), is an Associate Professor of Maritime Hydraulics at University “Mediterranea” of Reggio Calabria since 2001. He obtained his degree in Civil Engineering (5-year course) magna cum laude at the “Mediterranea” in 1994. In 1996 became assistant professor of Hydraulics at the same University. He was a member of the GNDCI ‐ Italian National Group of Defence from Hydro‐Geological Disasters ‐ of the National Research Council (CNR), Unit of Reggio Calabria. He worked together with professor Boccotti to realize the Okeanos laboratory. It was the first laboratory of ocean engineering which operated in the field rather than in the traditional laboratory tanks. This laboratory exploits some exceptionally favorable characteristics of the sea off the eastern coast of the Straits of Messina. Since 2001 Filianoti was Member of the Scientific Committee of the “Okeanos” Consortium, which managed the homonymous laboratory which Filianoti directed from 2001 to 2009. In December 2001, he directed the first small scale experiment on a wave energy absorption. In May 2005, Filianoti directed a small-scale field experiment, designed with professor Boccotti, on a new kind of breakwater able to convert wave energy into electric power. In particular, Filianoti supervised the set-up and management of the gauge net, constituted by precision sensors “ad hoc” developed to operate at sea. He is the scientific supervisor and overall coordinator of a National Operational Programme for Research and Competitiveness project called “Marine Energy Lab- Systems research and development of electrical energy efficient generation, transmission and storage, in marine environment”; PON03PE_00012_1 Total budget:5 M€. He was project manager of the “Renew-MEL” research programme Total budget: 11,6 M€. In the last five years, he has been: a) member of the scientific committee of the project “Soluzioni innovative per l’impiego del generatore eolico a levitazione magnetica in parchi eolici offshore”, supported in the project “Generatore Eolico a Levitazione Magnetica in Calabria” (GELMINCAL), project N. PONa3_00308 Total budget: 15,4 M€. b) scientific supervisor of a National Operational Programme for Research and Competitiveness project called “AQUASYSTEM – procedure e tecnologie innovative per una gestione pianificata ed integrate delle risorse idriche l’ottimizzazione energetica ed il controllo della qualità nel ciclo integrato delle acque”; PON04a2_F Total budget: 11,3 M€. Mains topics of research carried out by Filianoti are the diffraction of waves by isolated obstacles, analysis of wave loads over coastal structures, beach planform evolution, wave risk, devices for wave energy conversion, interaction between waves and structures. He supervised or co-supervised about 15 Degree Theses and 2 PhD Thesis. He published more than 70 papers. Total number of publications indexed in Scholar: 71. Scholar Citations: 374.
